A Visit to Esther’s Place

On July 7th, as part of our visit to the 2015 ACB Convention in Dallas, we took a tour to the American Foundation for the Blind Center on Vision Loss in North Dallas. We were there to see Esther’s Place, an 1800 square foot demonstration centre that features more than 500 different accessibility aids for people with vision loss. We were warmly greeted, given lunch, and guided through Esther’s Place by Neva Fairchild (Neva’s LinkedIn profile) and Joyce Sampson, both of whom are delightful and very knowledgeable.

Here’s a short video that summarizes our tour. As noted in the video, you don’t need to go to Dallas to tour Esther’s Place. Instead, you can take a virtual tour here via the AFB’s website.
